  • 1 cup 1 cup corn syrup Can substitute half for maple syrup.
  • 1 cup 1 cup sugar Essential for sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Adds richness to the filling.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the overall flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy.
  • Add corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla; whisk until well combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  • Pour mixture into the prepared pie crust.

Baking

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, until the top is browned and the filling jiggles slightly.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Let the pie cool completely before slicing for cleaner pieces. Experiment with adding whiskey or orange zest for variations.
