  • 1 cup sour cream Usually full-fat variety for better flavor.
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Split between mixing in and the topping.
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese For oozing cheesy goodness.
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch Thickens the sauce.
  • 1 tsp dried oregano Adds depth and complexity.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Can substitute with fresh garlic for more flavor.
  • to taste salt and black pepper Essential for flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the greased baking dish in a single layer.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan, cornstarch, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Place one slice of mozzarella on top of each chicken breast.
  • Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over each chicken breast.
  • Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, don't rush the browning, use fresh ingredients, and consider adding veggies for extra nutrients.
