Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano
  • 3/4 lb halal Italian sausage
  • 250 grams cream cheese
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup sweet bell pepper, diced
  • 18 slices halal pepperoni
  • 2 tablespoons sliced black olives
  • 2 pieces pie dough for 9-inch crusts
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, blend cream cheese, mozzarella (reserve 2 tbsp for topping), and oregano.
  • Cut Italian sausage into pieces and brown in skillet, breaking apart. Add onion, bell pepper, and olives, cook 1-2 minutes, remove from heat.
  • Add sausage mixture to cheese blend; fold in cherry tomatoes.
  • Roll out half the dough, place in cast iron pan, add filling, top with half the pepperoni.
  • Roll out remaining dough for top crust, place over filling, pinch edges, cut slits for steam.
  • Mix egg and water, brush crust, sprinkle oregano. Arrange remaining pepperoni avoiding steam slits, sprinkle reserved mozzarella.
  • Bake 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
