  • 24 pieces ladyfingers Look for soft and airy ones.
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce Elevates the dessert with richness.
  • cocoa powder, for dusting Finishes the dessert with a chocolate touch.
  • chocolate shavings, for garnish Adds extra elegance.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
  • Pour cooled espresso into a shallow dish. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso to soak.
  • In a 9×13 inch dish, layer half of the coffee-soaked ladyfingers on the bottom.
  • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.
  • Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the mascarpone layer.
  • Repeat the layering with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture, drizzling with the rest of the caramel.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings.

Notes

Use high-quality coffee and consider making the dessert a day in advance for the best flavor. Don't skip the cocoa dusting as it balances the sweetness.
