  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour.
  • 1 cup sugar Use less for a less sweet dish.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt Just a pinch to balance the sweetness.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.
  • 1 cup milk Can use dairy alternatives.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Unsalted is recommended for better control of saltiness.
  • 2 pieces eggs To bind the ingredients.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Slowly combine the wet mixture with the dry mixture, gently folding them together.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Best served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-5 days.
