Main Ingredients

  • 2 medium ripe bananas Ripe bananas are sweeter and ideal for this recipe.
  • 4 tbsp peanut butter Can be creamy or crunchy.
  • 4 to 5 tbsp dark chocolate Use good quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
  • ¼ tsp coconut oil Helps the chocolate melt smoothly.
  • 3 tbsp chopped peanuts For extra nuttiness.
  • a pinch sea salt Enhances sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Peel the bananas.
  • Cut the bananas in half lengthwise, then slice them down the middle again to create 8 slices.
  • Lay the banana slices on a parchment paper-covered baking sheet.
  • Spread peanut butter generously on each banana slice.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt and chopped peanuts on top of the peanut butter.

Melting the Chocolate

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate and coconut oil.
  • Melt in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.

Assembly and Freezing

  • Drizzle melted chocolate over the peanut butter-covered banana slices.
  • Place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 1 hour or until the chocolate is solid.
  • Once frozen, store them in a freezer-safe bag for later enjoyment.

Notes

For best results, use bananas that are just starting to spot. When melting chocolate, be careful not to overheat it. These treats can be customized with different nut butters or toppings.
