Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and brown it while breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Once browned, add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and celery. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper, mixing until well combined.
  • Add the long-grain rice and stir, ensuring the rice is coated in the mixture.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, stirring until everything is combined.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  • After cooking, fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For best results, let the dish rest after cooking. Adjust spices based on heat tolerance, and consider using day-old rice for better texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
