  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips Semi-sweet chocolate chips recommended for a balanced sweetness.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter Can substitute with coconut oil if needed.
  • 3 large eggs Ensure they are at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Alternatives like coconut sugar can be experimented with.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the overall flavor.
  • cup all-purpose flour Be careful not to overmeasure.
  • a pinch salt Brings out the chocolate flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Melt the chocolate and butter together in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring gently.
  • Once melted, remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Fold in the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg mixture gently.
  • Sift in the flour and a pinch of salt, folding gently until just combined.
  • Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish and pour in the batter.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
  • Let the dish cool for a bit before cutting into squares.
  • Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Let the melted chocolate cool before mixing in the eggs to prevent scrambling. Keep an eye on the baking time as ovens may vary.
