  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided Adds richness to the sauce.

Flavorings

  • ½ cup white wine or chicken broth Choose based on preference.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Adds flavor to the sauce.
  • Juice of 1 lemon lemon juice Brightens the dish.
  • 1 tablespoon capers Optional but highly recommended.

Seasoning and Garnish

  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for seasoning.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Add just before serving for freshness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Pound the chicken breasts between plastic wrap or parchment paper to an even thickness.
  • Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
  • Sauté the chicken for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
  • Remove chicken and set aside on a warm plate.
  • Lower the heat, add minced garlic to the same pan, sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Deglaze with white wine or chicken broth, scraping up brown bits. Simmer for about a minute.
  • Add chicken broth and lemon juice; let reduce for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add remaining butter and capers to the sauce, then return chicken to skillet, spooning sauce over chicken.

Serving

  • Plate the chicken, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve.

Notes

This dish can be paired with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables. Allow leftovers to cool before storing in an airtight container.
