For Cheesy Scrambled Eggs

  • 4 large eggs 4 large eggs (Farm-fresh, please!)
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup milk (Whole milk adds richness!)
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar, please! But feel free to get adventurous!) Cheddar is recommended, but variations can include feta or pepper jack.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Glazed Strawberry Buttermilk Biscuits

  • 2 cups 2 cups all-purpose flour (all-purpose flour is a baking staple)
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon baking powder (this is your magic riser)
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup sugar (just the right sweetness)
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup buttermilk (for that tender texture)
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup butter, melted (the source of buttery joy)
  • 1 cup 1 cup strawberries, sliced (freshly sliced is the way to go)
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for the sweet glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for a zesty kick)

Other Ingredients

  • Breakfast sausage links or patties (cocktail sausages can also work wonders!)
  • Assorted fresh fruit (because a little color always brightens up the plate!)

Preparing the Cheesy Scrambled Eggs

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the 4 eggs and 1/4 cup of milk until frothy.
  • Add a pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and stir gently with a spatula.
  • When the eggs are almost cooked but still slightly runny, sprinkle in the 1 cup shredded cheese and stir until melted.
  • Remove from heat before they get too firm.

Making the Glazed Strawberry Buttermilk Biscuits

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix the 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, and 1/4 cup sugar.
  • Add in the melted butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the 1/2 cup buttermilk until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the sliced strawberries.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • For the glaze, combine the 1/2 cup powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon lemon juice and drizzle over warm biscuits.

Notes

Make sure to let your eggs and butter come to room temperature for even cooking.
