Instructions
 

Cooking Rice

  • Toast the rice in a medium saucepan over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  • Add chicken broth, bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until absorbed. Fluff and set aside.

Crisping Bacon and Sausage

  • In a large skillet, cook turkey bacon over medium-high heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, cook the beef sausage until browned, about 3-4 minutes.

Sautéing Vegetables

  • Add diced onion, celery, and bell pepper to the skillet, cooking for 5-6 minutes until soft.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Mixing Ingredients

  • Sprinkle in the spices and stir for 30 seconds.
  • Return bacon and sausage to the pan, add cooked rice, and toss to coat with spices and vegetables.

Cooking Shrimp

  • Create a well in the skillet and place the shrimp inside. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until opaque.
  • Fold shrimp into the rice mixture gently.

Final Touches

  • Let rest for 2 minutes off the heat to meld the flavors. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Serve garnished with green onions and parsley.

Notes

Fresh ingredients significantly enhance the dish. Avoid overcooking the shrimp to prevent rubbery texture.
