Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 4 pieces ripe bananas The riper, the better!
  • ½ cup brown sugar Light or dark, your choice.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted Can be substituted with coconut oil.
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon Add more if you're a spice fanatic.
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg Optional, but adds depth.
  • a pinch salt

For the Topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats Use certified gluten-free oats for a gluten-free version.
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup chopped nuts Walnuts or almonds, totally optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl using a fork or potato masher.
  • In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Pour the melted butter over the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  • Fold in the mashed bananas gently.
  • Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish, pour in the banana mixture, and top with the crumble.

Cooking

  • Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days in an airtight container.
